I bought the tour for Road to Hana and downloaded it the night before. It only worked when we had data (which was rarely) even though it's supposed to trigger based on gps alone. I tried restarting the app several times but it didn't help. Also, the music that was supposed to play between stops didn't work. I have an android and I wonder if iPhone users have had a better experience since the app has so many good reviews. Very disappointed due to the price, might be worth it if it worked.

I downloaded the app a couple of months ahead of a trip to Maui based on all the recommendations. I didn't purchase the guide yet, and after just a few days of non-stop notifications on my phone and e-mails, I uninstalled it and I'm still trying to stop the e-mails from coming in, which I've tried to unsubscribe from twice and still getting them. I'll never know if the app is really that useful, because I won't install it again.

This app was phenomenal. most likely, you'll lose conventional gps if you're on the road to hana. but this app was able to guide us all the way through even without reception. we did the loop which took us from north maui, to southern maui. the narrator was awesome and they played music the entire time. every so often the app will freeze and just play music but that was easy to fix.
