Lightning strikes are a constant threat in the southern US (I've lost two modems, a TV, and other expensive electronics to them) which makes this app and it's warnings of strikes in the area a lifesaver. This simple app has lots of handy options such as the ability to adjust the radius from your location you'd like to be warned about, etc. One of the best things is that even on the the free version there's no screen-filling ads to click through to get to the app. : )

I've tried it a few times. It just doesn't seem accurate. It has strikes that another site I use don't show, or they are in different locations. They never match up. Also, the alerts of nearby strikes are always roughly 10-20 mins after the fact. Not very useful especially when working outside, and there's a possible storm approaching. Idk, I've, in- and uninstalled this app about 5 times now.

App displays an ad for a different app. The ad is full screen and cannot be closed. Only way to get rid of it is to either download the suggested app (probably not a wise move), or close out the lightning tracker itself, which kind of defeats the purpose of having it. Ads are OK, but not ads that won't go away and which prevent use of the app. This app has become junk.
