Well, right out of the box this has been an exercise in frustration. The app refuses to pair with the ninebot. It finds it, I click on it, it then tells me to pair it with Bluetooth and gives me a paragraph in Chinese which isn't terribly helpful to me. clicking on the checkmark does nothing. Going to the Bluetooth settings and trying to pair it that way ask me for a pin code. Which is not supplied and I can't find anywhere. None of the default choices that one might expect work. Junk.

This is the dashboard for your ninebot. Chinese app asks for access to your contacts, says this is the only way it can use the Bluetooth but I don't find any evidence for that on the internet. I used it to set a Password, perhaps if you don't someone else could connect and change to beginner mode while you're riding? Connecting takes a lot of tries, sometimes asks for the password and permissions again, apparently doesn't remember. Not useful while riding, but need it to check the odometer.

Like for many others, this app is virtually worthless. The map shows where I am when I start and where I am as I move, but once finished riding, the app tells me that I drove in a straight line from start to finish. Yes, you can use the app to electronically lock your device, but it is too easy to steal and then figure out later. You still have to invest in a chain lock either way, which will be a much greater deterrent.
