About this app

Kalda โ€“ LGBTQIA+ Mental Health, On-Demand

Queer, questioning, or simply craving a space that gets you? We built Kalda so every LGBTQIA+ person - across identities, ages, and intersections - can access evidence-based care whenever, wherever.

_______

Why We Exist

Life in our rainbow shoes can feel heavy: micro-aggressions at work, gender dysphoria in the mirror, family tension at dinner. Weโ€™re here to lighten the load with clinically validated tools grounded in Third-Wave CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), mindfulness, acceptance, and self-compassion - translated into plain, everyday language.

_______

Bite-Sized Features Youโ€™ll Love

- Guided Video Sessions โ€“ 2 to 10-minute practices for anxiety, low mood, and identity stress.
- Daily Grounding Exercises โ€“ quick resets you can do in bed, on a bus, or mid-panic.
- Queer-Led Courses โ€“ learn from licensed therapists and lived-experience mentors.
- Progress Tracking โ€“ see mood, streaks, and skill mastery grow over time.
- Community Stories โ€“ real voices sharing real wins and setbacks (no toxic positivity here).
- Secure Journal โ€“ jot feelings in a private vault; we never sell data โ€” period.

_______

Clinically Credible, Radically Accessible

- Proven Impact: Studies show Kalda users feel significantly better even after just a few sessions.
- Affordable Plans: Free video courses to try out; the full library costs less than one latte a week.
- Instant Start: No waiting lists, no referralsโ€”support is two taps away.
- Privacy First: End-to-end encryption keeps your journey yours.

(Updated) There's a great concept here, and many of us queer people are desperate for something like this. I want to love Kalda, but the current content and functionality doesn't match the marketing nor justify the price. It feels flaky, basic and empty, like it's been rushed to a paid release too early. Even Premium consists only of a few generic, entry-level CBT/mindfulness self-help courses plus a crude journal with strange reflection prompts; contrary to the ads, it's not therapy (as such).

The app has gone a long way since I first tried it. Hats off to the team behind it, they've really managed to build a product worth using. Love the mindfulness sessions! Keep it up guys ๐Ÿ’›

Pretty awful, really. The samples of each course do not go deep enough to get an idea of if you'd like to continue on them once you need to pay. Most things are behind a paywall, so it's not really a free app with some optional "in app purchases", you won't really get anything out of it unless you do pay. From what I can see you get once you've paid, you can find via far more professional and thorough YouTubers for the price of watching a few adverts (all the ones I follow are allies/queer).
