The game tries to be a mixture of 2 kind of games (the old and mighty Heroes III, and the new type of mobile RPG). It doesn't feel like the mixture of both does a great job. (the story line became more boring, the old way of telling the story through exploring the map was way better. The second and more important point is that this game is a lot pay to win. Free to play player doesn't stand a chance when facing p2w player (since you can buyout most of the cool stuff). :( Sadly I loved Heroes III

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know your opinion. Just so you know, you can actually unlock most of the contents and progress in the game without paying. Instead of purchases, strategy and tactic sometimes matter more in Era of Chaos!

Good, fun game with lots of depth. However unless you have hundreds of dollars to waste on a silly app, avoid this. All the good units, while not technically behind a paywall, will take you a year or more to acquire if you are a free player. Around level 50 or so there is nothing else to do besides play the log in and claim game for the next year just to level up enough to unlock a campaign or hope to eventually unlock a good unit. Fun game but no longer holding my interest as free player.

I think this game would be better without all the timers and energy bars. They make the whole the whole thing into a chore because i feel like i have to use up my energy or I'll lose it. It has some interesting concepts. the combat tutorials (that for whatever reason don't show up until several hours into the game) show you that the combat has more strategy than first appears. but at this point i feel like it would be weeks until I unlocked enough troops and heroes and things to enjoy it.
