I went with a Kobe e-reader for features for the price. It's still great, but this app is awful. It's stuck at loading the library and no books show up. I tried everything customer support said, multiple times. No luck. It's worked in times past and is okay then. But these sync issues happen often. When I check out or buy a new book it often doesn't appear. (I've tried repairing my account, repeatedly. It doesn't work).

It is a shame. They did a major update to the app late 2024, and it absolutely sucks now. Missing features and tons of terrible bugs: Brightness is full manual, no auto and doesn't follow the device settings; no longer can use volume buttons as page turn; screen brightness setting resets constantly, regularly doesn't load the app, just a blank screen, until you close and reopen the app, the lost goes on. The UI changes were nice, but the actual app IS HORRENDOUS.

It doesn't save properly when it goes to the background. So often it won't open back to the same page you were on, and reverts to a prior brightness setting. It always either uses its own brightness, or else, if you choose "use system brightness," wants to *control* the system brightness itself; either way is frustrating thanks to the tendency to forget the setting and revert. I don't demand a ton from a reader app, but this one screws up things I hadn't even thought of.
