Not very useful. App was able to find my JBL Bar 5.1 Surround. It seemed stuck for a while, luckily I was watching the display on the soundbar and figured it was updating the firmware. App also let me add the soundbar to my Alexa speakers. But that's about it, app doesn't let me control the soundbar in any way - volume, settings... nothing. So, as its name says, only useful for setup.

Same experience as others. App is totally useless / stuck in a loop when trying to connect. I tried connecting to the JBL Wi-Fi, even with airplane mode on ruling out network gateway issues with 5G, and nada. I'll try plugging it in via Ethernet later when I have time, and seeing if I can connect directly to the IP address it gets assigned on my LAN. Will report back if / when I find a workaround.

Terrible terrible terrible and I love JBL. I have a S21 Ultra and couldn't get it to connect through BT or WiFi. BT states it needs an app, well what app? JBL has at least 5 different apps for their devices. The prompts on the app don't work period. I have to use my wife's iPhone to get this thing to listen to music and that's just insulting. If it wasn't such a great soundbar for movies it would be going back. Can't figure out how to update it either. I'm also 20 yr certified theater installer.
