It's mind boggling how bad this app is & the overall setup experience for installing Elgato light strip. First, everything in the app takes like a minute to load, e.g. constantly waiting for the spinning wheel. To add insult to injury, the setup involves connecting the light strip to a Wi-Fi network. However, if your Wi-Fi network SSID name is too short (e.g. mine is 3 letters long), it won't let you enter the password, making setup impossible. I had to change my Wi-Fi SSID just for this... 🤦

How is this app even still in the play store? It's terrible. It loses connection to wifi, my lights start blinking on and off, I can never get it back unless I restart the app. Totally unusable in live streams and recording which is what I bought the key lights for. It's a shame this hasn't been fixed. I have dozens of apps that control remote devices, none of them lose the connection and start flashing the devices. I feel totally let down by Elgato.

great when it works, and really annoying when it doesn't. it will only show devices that it detects on the network and doesn't not allow you to enter a static address for when the auto detection fails. by default it does not have a way to just turn on the light with a switch to override, but it does appear that you can configure it to power on after a power loss, which I guess is a work around. the lighting is nice and diffused, it's just a shame that the network and app controls are so fussy.
